This update is about speed. Nothing has moved and nothing works differently. Pages simply appear sooner, and they hold still while they load. The short version:
Instant navigation: pages appear the moment you click#
Clicking through to Devices, Streams or a dashboard used to mean a short pause, then everything landing at once. That pause is gone. The navigation, page heading, table columns and tabs appear immediately. Your live data fills into them a moment later.
On a fast office connection this is a small improvement. On a slow connection at a remote site it is a big one. The pause there could last long enough to make you click twice.
Loading placeholders match the real page#
While your data loads, you now see the true shape of the page instead of a few grey blocks. Column headings, tabs and toolbars are drawn straight away. Only the values are still loading.
This is not just cosmetic. A placeholder with the wrong shape makes the whole page lurch sideways when the real data arrives, and that is how you end up clicking the wrong row. A placeholder with the right shape means the page settles once and stays put.
White-label branding shows from the first frame#
If you are on a white-label plan, your logo and colours now load before anything else is drawn. Your team and your customers never see our branding flash first.
Public pages are lighter#
Our public pages and the sign-in screen now carry less code behind the scenes, so the first load is quicker. The difference is largest on slower connections.
One more small fix. If your operating system's reduce motion setting is on, we no longer download the animated page backgrounds at all. Before, we downloaded them and then did not play them, which wasted your data.
What you need to do#
Nothing. It is already live in your account, and none of your dashboards, devices, alerts or reports are affected.
