These terms govern your use of the Logable platform. Please read them carefully before creating an account or using our services.

1. Agreement to Terms
By creating an account, accessing, or using the Logable platform ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and TipThing (Pty) Ltd (Registration: 2025/400138/07), trading as Logable.
If you are accepting these Terms on behalf of an organization, company, or other legal entity, you represent and warrant that you have the authority to bind that entity to these Terms. In such cases, "you" and "your" refer to that entity.
If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not access or use the Service.
2. Definitions
The following definitions apply throughout these Terms:
- "Service" or "Platform": The Logable IoT monitoring and telemetry platform, including all websites, APIs, mobile applications, and related services.
- "User", "you", "your": Any individual or entity that accesses or uses the Service.
- "We", "us", "our": TipThing (Pty) Ltd, trading as Logable.
- "Account": Your registered user account on the Platform.
- "Organization": A multi-tenant workspace that can have multiple team members.
- "Device": An IoT device registered on the Platform.
- "Telemetry Data" or "Device Data": Data transmitted by your devices to the Platform, including metrics, sensor readings, and status information.
- "Data Stream": A named data channel for ingesting structured data via REST API.
- "Dashboard": A user-configured display of widgets that visualize Device Data.
- "API": The Logable Application Programming Interface.
- "MQTT": Message Queuing Telemetry Transport, a messaging protocol used for device communication.
- "Content": Any data, information, text, or configurations you upload, submit, or create through the Service.
- "Subscription": Your selected pricing plan (Pro or Industry).
3. Eligibility
To use the Service, you must:
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- Have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement.
- If acting on behalf of an organization, have the authority to bind that entity to these Terms.
The Service is not intended for use by individuals under 18 years of age. If we become aware that a person under 18 is using the Service, we will take steps to terminate their account.
4. Account Registration and Security
When creating an account, you agree to:
- Provide accurate, current, and complete registration information.
- Maintain the confidentiality of your password and account credentials.
- Accept responsibility for all activity that occurs under your account.
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access or use of your account at support@logable.app.
We support two-factor authentication (TOTP) and passkeys (WebAuthn). We strongly recommend enabling at least one of these security features on your account.
Each individual may only maintain one account. Organization accounts may have multiple members as permitted by your Subscription. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
5. Service Description
Logable is an IoT device monitoring and telemetry platform. The Service provides the following core capabilities:
- Device Management: Support for 8 industrial device types plus a generic device type, with device registration, authentication tokens, and real-time status tracking.
- Dashboard Builder: A drag-and-drop builder with 17+ widget types for visualizing device data and metrics.
- Smart Alerts: Configurable alerts with 5 condition types, delivered via email and web inbox.
- Data Streams: REST ingestion endpoints with typed schemas for custom data.
- Real-Time Streaming: Server-Sent Events (SSE) for live data delivery to dashboards.
- Organization Management: Multi-tenant workspaces with role-based access control (RBAC).
Supported Protocols
REST API for data ingestion and platform management; MQTT for device communication.
Service Tiers
- Pro: Designed for individuals. Includes generic devices, up to 10 devices, 5 data streams, and core platform features.
- Industry: Designed for organizations. Includes everything in Pro plus industrial device types, organization management, RBAC, audit logs, gateway support, and custom limits.
The Service is accessible via web browser and mobile application. We may introduce, modify, or discontinue features with reasonable notice to users.
6. Subscriptions, Billing, and Payment
Plans and Pricing
- Pro: $9.99/month or $7.99/month when billed annually at $95.88/year.
- Industry: Custom pricing based on your requirements.
Free Trial
We may offer a 14-day free trial for new users. You will be clearly notified before any charges apply. The trial does not automatically convert to a paid subscription without your explicit consent.
Billing and Renewal
Subscriptions are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis. Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period. You may cancel at any time before the next renewal date through your account settings.
Price Changes
We will provide at least 30 days' advance notice of any price increases. Price changes take effect at the start of the next billing period following the notice period.
Refunds
Annual subscriptions are non-refundable except as required by applicable law. Monthly subscriptions end at the conclusion of the current billing period upon cancellation.
Late Payment
If a payment fails, we will attempt to notify you and provide a 14-day grace period to resolve the issue. After the grace period, your account may be downgraded or suspended until payment is received.
ECT Act Cooling-Off Period (South Africa)
In accordance with Section 44 of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002, you have a 7-day cooling-off period to cancel your initial subscription without reason or penalty, provided you have not materially used the Service during that period.
7. Data Ownership and Intellectual Property
Your Data
You retain all right, title, and interest in your Content and Telemetry Data. We do not claim ownership of your data.
License to Us
You grant us a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide license to process, store, and display your Content and Telemetry Data solely to provide the Service to you. This license terminates when you delete your data or your account.
Our Intellectual Property
We retain all right, title, and interest in the Logable platform, including its software, APIs, documentation, designs, trademarks, and proprietary technology. Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of our intellectual property to you.
Aggregated Data
We may use anonymized, de-identified, and aggregated data (from which you cannot be identified) for service improvement, performance benchmarking, and industry insights. This data cannot be traced back to you or your organization.
Feedback
If you provide feedback, suggestions, or ideas about the Service, we may use them without any obligation to you.
Open Source
Portions of the Service may include open-source software subject to their respective licenses.
8. Acceptable Use Policy
You agree NOT to:
- Use the Service for any illegal purpose or in violation of any applicable law.
- Transmit any data that infringes on third-party intellectual property rights.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, other accounts, or systems connected to the Service.
- Circumvent, disable, or interfere with security features, rate limits, or usage restrictions.
- Use the Service to send spam, phishing messages, or malicious content via MQTT or any other channel.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service.
- Use automated scripts or bots to access the Service in a manner that exceeds reasonable use (API rate limits are enforced: 100 requests/minute standard, 20 requests/minute for sensitive operations).
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service or impose an unreasonable load on our infrastructure.
- Resell, sublicense, or redistribute the Service without our written consent.
- Use the Service to monitor, collect, or harvest personal information of third parties without their consent.
- Transmit viruses, malware, or any harmful code through your devices or API calls.
- Impersonate another person or entity.
Device and API Limits
- Pro plan: Up to 10 devices, 5 data streams, data push intervals minimum 15 seconds.
- Industry plan: Custom limits as agreed in your service agreement, data push intervals up to 1 second.
- API rate limits: 100 requests per minute (standard), 20 requests per minute (authentication endpoints).
- MQTT connections: Subject to your plan's device limits.
Consequences
Violations may result in a warning, temporary suspension, or permanent termination of your account, at our sole discretion.
9. API Terms
- API access is provided as part of your Subscription.
- You must authenticate all API requests using JWT bearer tokens or session cookies.
- API keys (for device and stream authentication) must be kept confidential and stored securely.
- You are responsible for all API calls made with your credentials.
- Rate limits are enforced. Exceeding them will result in HTTP 429 responses.
- We may version our API and deprecate older versions with at least 90 days' notice.
- You must not use the API to scrape, harvest, or collect data beyond what your account is authorized to access.
- Device and stream tokens generated through the API are cryptographically random and should be treated as sensitive credentials.
10. MQTT Terms
- MQTT connections require device-level authentication tokens.
- We support standard MQTT protocol with TLS encryption.
- You must secure your MQTT credentials and rotate tokens periodically.
- Message size limits and QoS levels are subject to your plan.
- We reserve the right to disconnect devices that violate rate limits or exhibit abusive behavior.
- You are responsible for the security and configuration of your IoT devices.
11. Service Availability and SLA
Pro Plan
- The Service is provided "as is" with no uptime guarantees.
- We use commercially reasonable efforts to maintain availability.
- Scheduled maintenance will be communicated via email when possible.
Industry Plan
- Uptime target: 99.9% measured monthly (excluding scheduled maintenance).
- Scheduled maintenance windows will be communicated at least 48 hours in advance.
Service Credits (Industry Plan)
- 99.0% – 99.9% uptime: 10% credit on monthly fee.
- 95.0% – 99.0% uptime: 25% credit on monthly fee.
- Below 95.0% uptime: 50% credit on monthly fee.
Credits must be claimed within 30 days of the incident by emailing support@logable.app. Credits may not exceed 50% of the monthly fee and are applied to future invoices, not refunded.
SLA Exclusions
The SLA does not apply to: scheduled maintenance, force majeure events, issues caused by the user, third-party service failures, or beta features.
12. Data Processing and Privacy
- Our use of your personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy.
- By using the Service, you acknowledge you have read and understood our Privacy Policy.
- For Industry plan customers who require a Data Processing Agreement (DPA), please contact privacy@logable.app.
- We maintain a list of sub-processors and will provide at least 30 days' notice before adding new sub-processors.
- Your data is hosted on Hetzner servers in the European Union.
13. Account Suspension and Termination
Termination by You
- You may cancel your Subscription at any time through your account settings or by emailing support@logable.app.
- Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
- After cancellation, you have 30 days to export your data (device metrics are available as CSV/JSON).
- After the 30-day export window, your data will be permanently deleted.
Termination by Us (for Cause)
- We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms, fail to pay after the grace period, engage in illegal activity, or your account poses a security risk.
- We will provide notice and an opportunity to cure where reasonably possible, except for severe violations.
Service Discontinuation
If we discontinue the Service entirely, we will provide at least 90 days' notice and assist with data export.
Effect of Termination
- All associated data (devices, metrics, dashboards, streams, tokens, notifications) will be permanently deleted after the 30-day export window.
- Organization deletion cascades to all organization-owned resources.
- Clauses that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including limitation of liability, intellectual property, governing law, and dispute resolution.
14. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- Our total aggregate liability under these Terms shall not exceed the total fees paid by you in the 12 months preceding the claim.
- We shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to: loss of profits, loss of data, loss of business opportunities, cost of procurement of substitute services, or business interruption.
- We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from: your failure to secure your account credentials, your device configuration or misconfiguration, interruptions to third-party services, force majeure events, or unauthorized access resulting from your negligence.
Exceptions
These limitations do not apply to liability arising from our gross negligence or willful misconduct, or where limitation of liability is prohibited by applicable law.
Important Notice for IoT Users
Logable is a monitoring and alerting platform. It is not designed to be a safety-critical system. You should not rely solely on Logable alerts for safety-critical decisions. Always implement independent safety systems for applications where failure could cause personal injury or property damage.
15. Indemnification
Your Indemnification Obligations
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless TipThing (Pty) Ltd, its officers, directors, employees, and agents against any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from:
- Your violation of these Terms.
- Your use of the Service.
- Your Content or Telemetry Data infringing on third-party rights.
- Your violation of any applicable law.
Our Indemnification Obligations
We agree to indemnify you against claims that the Service infringes on a third party's intellectual property rights, provided you promptly notify us, grant us control of the defense, and cooperate with our defense. This indemnification does not apply to: your modifications of the Service, use contrary to these Terms or documentation, or combinations with third-party products.
16. User Responsibilities
As a user of the Service, you are responsible for:
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date account information.
- Securing your account credentials, API keys, device tokens, and MQTT credentials.
- Backing up your own data. While we provide export tools (CSV/JSON), you are ultimately responsible for maintaining backups.
- Ensuring your IoT devices are properly configured and secured against unauthorized access.
- Complying with all applicable laws in your jurisdiction regarding the data you transmit through the Service.
- Ensuring your use of the Service does not violate third-party rights.
- Promptly reporting any security vulnerabilities or unauthorized access to support@logable.app.
17. Force Majeure
Neither party shall be liable for any failure or delay in performance due to circumstances beyond reasonable control, including but not limited to: natural disasters, war, terrorism, epidemics, government actions, labor disputes, power failures, internet outages, or failures of third-party infrastructure providers.
18. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
- These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
- Any disputes arising from or relating to these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Western Cape Division of the High Court of South Africa.
- Nothing in these Terms prevents either party from seeking injunctive or other equitable relief in any court of competent jurisdiction.
19. Dispute Resolution
- Negotiation: The parties shall first attempt to resolve any dispute through good-faith negotiation for a period of 30 days from the date of written notice of the dispute.
- Mediation: If negotiation fails, the parties may agree to submit the dispute to mediation in accordance with the rules of the Arbitration Foundation of Southern Africa (AFSA).
- Litigation: If the dispute is not resolved through negotiation or mediation, either party may institute legal proceedings in the courts specified in Section 18.
20. Modifications to These Terms
- We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time.
- Material changes will be communicated via email and/or an in-app notification at least 30 days before the effective date.
- Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.
- If you do not agree to the modified Terms, you must stop using the Service and cancel your Subscription before the effective date.

22. General Provisions
- Entire Agreement: These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any applicable DPA, constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service.
- Severability: If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
- Waiver: Our failure to enforce any right or provision shall not constitute a waiver of that right or provision.
- Assignment: You may not assign your rights under these Terms without our written consent. We may assign our rights in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
- Notices: We may send notices to the email address associated with your account. You may send notices to support@logable.app or privacy@logable.app as applicable.
- No Third-Party Beneficiaries: These Terms do not create any third-party beneficiary rights.
- Relationship: Nothing in these Terms creates a partnership, joint venture, or agency relationship between you and us.
