# Ubidots alternative for a small fleet (https://logable.app/compare/ubidots-alternative)

Ubidots and Logable compared row by row, checked on 12 September 2026: alert channels, retention, reports, team size and entry price.

Ubidots keeps data longer and reaches a phone in more ways. Logable costs less at the entry plan, and tells the next person when the first one does not answer.

## The short answer
Both products take readings, draw them and alert on them. The split is the size of the fleet and the way the alert has to arrive.
- **Choose Ubidots when the alert must reach a plain phone** Professional includes 10 SMS or voice alerts a month. Logable does not send SMS, so it needs a data connection.
- **Choose Ubidots when you need a year of raw data** Six months on Professional and 24 months on Industrial, against 60 days of raw readings on Logable.
- **Choose Logable for a small fleet and a small team** Starter is USD 25 for 8 devices and Growth USD 49 for 25, with 6 members across four roles.

## Ubidots and Logable, side by side
Every row on the left carries the page it was read from. The Ubidots column describes the Professional plan unless the row says otherwise.

## Where Ubidots is the better choice
Five reasons to buy Ubidots instead. Every one of them is in the table above.
- **SMS and voice alerts** Professional includes ten a month. Logable sends email, push notifications and an in-app inbox message, and nothing over a voice call.
- **Data kept for six months or longer** Six months on Professional and 24 months on Industrial, against 60 days of raw readings on Logable.
- **A documented API for reading data out** REST, MQTT, CoAP and TCP or UDP are documented for building your own application on top. Logable documents the ingest path and outgoing webhooks.
- **UbiFunctions** Serverless functions inside the platform, for custom processing. Professional includes 1,000 executions a month.
- **Scheduled CSV, XLS and PDF reports** Listed on the pricing page as a platform capability, on every plan from Professional up.

## Where Logable is the better choice
Five reasons to buy Logable instead, each one checked in the product.
- **Entry price for a small fleet** Starter is USD 25 for 8 devices and Growth is USD 49 for 25, against USD 99 for 50 on Professional.
- **Six people on the entry plan** Growth includes 6 members across four roles: viewer, member, admin and owner. Each person sees only what the role allows.
- **Escalation stages and quiet hours** If the first person does not acknowledge, the next one is told. Quiet hours hold a non-critical alert until the morning.
- **Device types for weighing and storage** Silos, belt scales, weigh bins and check weighers arrive with their metrics, their widgets and their rules already defined.
- **Rand pricing and local invoicing** Starter is R399 a month and Growth is R749, invoiced by a South African company.

> Six people on the plan, not one admin and five viewers.
>
> Growth includes six members across four roles. Each one opens a dashboard, sets a rule and acknowledges an alert, as far as the role allows.

## What moving over involves
Moving over starts a new history for every device. A device is pointed at the Logable MQTT or HTTPS endpoint with a new token, and the history begins from that moment. Dashboards are rebuilt from the templates and the rules from the presets. One gap remains: Logable does not send SMS, so an alarm that must reach a phone off the data network needs a different answer.

## Every reading on one screen
A dashboard built by dragging widgets onto a grid, from a template for the equipment you run.

## The drive motor reaches 92.4 °C at 02:14
The push names the motor and the temperature, and the alert is critical, so quiet hours never hold it. If nobody acknowledges, the next name on the list is told.

## Frequently asked questions

### Why does Logable not send SMS alerts?
Alerts reach email, push notifications on the mobile app, the in-app inbox and outgoing webhooks. There is no SMS channel and no voice call. If an alarm has to reach a phone with no data connection, Ubidots includes ten SMS or voice alerts a month on Professional and Logable is the wrong choice.

### How long does Logable keep my data?
Raw readings are kept for 60 days. Hourly and daily summaries are kept after that, so a chart over a year still draws and a report over a quarter still runs. Ubidots keeps raw data for six months on Professional and 24 months on Industrial.

### How many people can use one Logable account?
Starter includes 3 members, Growth includes 6 and Business includes 80, across four roles: viewer, member, admin and owner. Ubidots Professional allows 1 admin user and up to 5 end users.

### Can I read my data back out of Logable with an API?
Logable documents the way readings come in, over MQTT and HTTPS, and the way events go out, over webhooks. There is no documented read API for building your own application on top. Ubidots documents REST, MQTT, CoAP and TCP or UDP for exactly that.
